If you are reading this article because you heard the words vegan chocolate lava cake, I don’t blame you. Those four words, in the particular order catch my attention too.
This recipe tastes so decedent, so creamy, and just oozes chocolate, you would have to be foolish not to give this one a try. But what is so unique about this recipe is that it is actually healthy. I know, right now you are probably thinking that I am scamming you. But I assure you this is not a scam.
The base of this cake is made out of bananas. Yes, no gluten, no baking powder, and no flour. Just banana. This is the ultimate healthy dessert that tastes like the most decedent cake.
Tip: If you wait until the bananas are slightly brown before you make this dessert, it will taste even sweeter.
So by now you are probably dying for this recipe, so without further ado, I am now exposing my secret recipe for chocolate lava cakes.
– 2 bananas
– Cacoa powder (make sure its vegan and natural and cover the bananas with the chocolate powered fully)
– Add three tablespoons of your favorite nut butter (almond, peanut, sun nut butter)
– Pick a sweetener (or two) I add coconut oil. You can also add dates, stevia, etc.
(Tip: add a pinch of sea salt to bring the flavors alive and you can even add cacao nibs to the mixture if you like a dark chocolate taste like I do)
Okay, this is super simple. Mix all ingredients in a blender until the mixture becomes smooth like a batter. Pour the mixture into the cup cake pan. This mixture should create about six cakes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and make the cakes for 15-20 minutes. You will notice the mixture start to rise. Once they are done you can let the cakes cool for about five minutes. You will notice that when you take your first bite that the chocolate oozes from the cake : ) What an awesome healthy dessert!
